AI new materials R&D company Rhinovate™ recently completed its Pre-A round of financing worth several hundred million yuan. This round was led by CDH Baifu, with participation from Loongson Capital, Unity Ventures, Befor Capital, Shunxi Fund and Zhongguancun Capital. This marks the company's third round of financing completed within a year, following previous investments from Kinzon Capital, BioTrack Capital, Shanghai Future Industry Fund, XtalPi and others. The funds from this round will be primarily utilized for the research and development of the RhinoMat foundational model for materials science and underlying technologies, the construction of multi-scenario orchestratable AI agents and an autonomously evolving laboratory system, as well as the scale-up verification of carbon-based high-performance materials, thereby continuously accumulating core technologies and experimental data.

Founded in 2025 and incubated based on the scientific research strength of Peking University, Rhinovate™ is a new materials R&D company driven by Physical AI. With core team members hailing from Peking University, Tsinghua University, Cambridge University, Stanford University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the company is committed to transforming complex and experience-dependent materials R&D into a computable, verifiable and scalable engineering system. Centered on the "RhinoAI Intelligent R&D Platform," the company integrates AI Scientists, autonomous experimental systems and pilot scale-up capabilities to build an end-to-end R&D closed loop covering "design-execution-characterization-feedback-optimization." This empowers models, data, formulations and processes to continuously evolve in real experiments, driving the R&D of high-performance materials from "experience-based trial and error" to "intelligent design."
