On November 9, 2014, Shanghai Electric Group Co., Ltd. ("SEC") and BrightSource Energy, Inc. ("BrightSource") signed a joint venture contract at the signing ceremony of APEC Beijing Summit. According to the Joint venture contract, SEC and BrightSource will set up a joint venture to build solar thermal stations in China.
Solar thermal power has been the cleanest and most environmental-friendly power so far. BrightSource owns advanced solar thermal technologies while SEC is a leading EPC contractor. Starting from Qinghai Delingha Solar Thermal Power Generation Station, the joint venture will carry out solar thermal business in China.
