With the approval of the Taiwan Stock Exchange Corporation for Primary Listing, Alchip Technologies, Limited ("Alchip"), as a foreign company, was successfully primary-listed on the Taiwan Stock Exchange on 28 October 2014. Alchip is a company registered in the Cayman Islands, and is a leading manufacturer providing high complexity, high production Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) and System on Chip (SoC) design and manufacturing services. The headquarters of Alchip is in Taipei, and the manufacturing center is established in Xinzhu, with subsidiaries in Mainland China, Japan and the U.S., and an office in South Korea.

In 2008, Finance Supervisory Commission Executive Yuan amended the provisions of Regulations Governing the Offering and Issuance of Securities by Foreign Securities Issuers, loosening the restrictions on direct or indirect use of raised capital for investment into and the ratio accumulated thereto in mainland China. The amendment enhanced applications for primary listing with the Taiwan Stock Exchange Corporation by reorganized Chinese mainland enterprises that have Taiwanese investors. According to the Regulations Governing the Offering and Issuance of Securities by Foreign Issuers, the offering and issuance of securities of foreign issuers whose securities are not listed on overseas' securities markets, when approved by the Taiwan Stock Exchange Corporation, is defined as a "primary listing".
