Recently, Shanghai Sytrix Technology Co., Ltd. (Sytrix), a chip company focusing on Model Processing Units (MPU), announced the completion of its seed round financing. The funds raised in this seed round will be primarily used for the research and development (R&D) and tape-out of its first MPU chip, as well as the expansion of its core team. Sytrix plans to establish deep cooperation with leading model manufacturers and cloud computing power service providers, collaborating with model manufacturers directly at the model design stage to deliver customized inference chips tailored for specific scenarios.
"Shun Yuan" (the company's Chinese name) takes its meaning from a Chinese phrase translating to: "In a split second, tokens inspire infinite intelligence." These eight characters encapsulate the company's technical ideal: to make the generation of Tokens happen in an instant, allowing AI intelligence to naturally emerge during every inference. Its English name, Sytrix, is derived from the fusion of "Synthesis" and "Matrix," implying the capability to transform model parameter matrices into chip hardware.
Sytrix's core product is the MPU (Model Processing Unit), a fully hardware-accelerated computing array designed for specific AI models. Unlike traditional chips where customers adapt their models only after delivery, Sytrix plans to deeply collaborate with model manufacturers during the model design or post-training fine-tuning stages.
The founding team of Sytrix is led by PhDs from prestigious institutions, including Tsinghua University (Yao Class), Shanghai Jiao Tong University (ACM Class), Peking University, Zhejiang University, and Huazhong University of Science and Technology. Core members possess comprehensive tape-out experience across multiple chips.
