On 23 October 2024, Llinks Law Offices, in partnership with LCOUNCIL, successfully hosted the 'Enterprise Trade Secret Protection in the New Era: Management and Litigation Practice' seminar in Shenzhen, which was the sixth edition of Llinks' 2024 Business Intellectual Property Seminar series.
This seminar was tightly focused on the protection of corporate trade secrets, discussing a myriad of issues related to management, risk mitigation, and rights enforcement from various angles, including management, transactions, and litigation. Llinks partners Ms. Cherri Che, Esq. Xun Yang, and Mr. Denny Jiang delivered compelling keynote speeches and engaged in vibrant discussions with the participants.
Kicking off the seminar, Esq. Xun Yang introduced the evolution of Llinks' Intellectual Property Group on behalf of the team.
Following that, Llinks partner Mr. Alex Huang, a member of Llinks' Management Committee and Director of the Shenzhen Office, extended a warm welcome and provided an overview of the Intellectual Property Team's five partners and their specialised fields. He highlighted the team's business-oriented approach, global perspective, industry expertise, and capability to offer comprehensive solutions in intellectual property matters.
Ms. Cherri Che then presented on 'New Dynamics in Trade Secret Protection in the Era of New Quality Productivity', offering insights into the characteristics of recent trade secret cases. She shared her experiences and strategies in handling trade secret infringement cases, discussing the challenges and solutions for both plaintiffs and defendants.
Esq. Xun Yang continued with a talk titled 'Enterprise Trade Secret Protection: Management and Transactions'. Drawing on typical cases, he summarised the essential measures for enterprises to protect trade secrets, including the establishment and implementation of corporate trade secret protection systems, information isolation, document retention and destruction policies, and personnel management systems with a focus on trade secret protection. He also discussed the key aspects of protecting trade secrets in partner due diligence, transaction structure design, and transaction term design through case studies.
After the tea break, Mr. Denny Jiang presented 'Practical Sharing of Trade Secret Rights Protection Litigation for Internet Enterprises'. Leveraging his extensive litigation experience in the internet industry, Mr. Jiang provided a detailed analysis of typical trade secret infringement cases. He delved into the substantive content of the three elements of trade secrets and emphasised the litigation techniques for deeply investigating infringing acts in internet cases.
The intellectual property seminar attracted a significant number of representatives from enterprises with a high concentration of intellectual property assets.
