Tommy Xia

Mr. Tommy Xia graduated from Tongji University with a bachelor’s degree of Arts in Scientific Japanese, received his LL.M. from Kyushu University in Japan, and earned an EMBA degree from Shanghai Advanced Institute of Finance, Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Mr. Xia has more than 20 years of practical experience as a lawyer and joined Llinks Law Offices in 2003. He previously served as a member of Corporate Law Research Committee of Shanghai Bar Association and an independent director of Zijin Trust. Currently, he serves as a member of Arbitration Practice Research Committee of Shanghai Bar Association, a mediator at Shanghai Financial Consumption Dispute Mediation Center, and an arbitrator for various arbitration institutions including Shanghai Arbitration Commission. Mr. Xia specializes in commercial and financial dispute resolution, banking and finance, asset management, etc.

In the field of commercial and financial dispute resolution, Mr. Xia has extensive experience and has long represented various financial institutions, private equity funds, and enterprises in handling various dispute cases. Mr. Xia represented Hua'an Fund Management Company in Hua'an Fund Management Company against Lehman Brothers International (Europe) on financial derivative cooperation issues. The retrial case he represented regarding a financial product sales dispute between a major state-owned commercial bank and investors was selected as one of the "Top 10 Financial and Commercial Cases of Shanghai Courts in 2019". In recent years, Mr. Xia's other representative cases in the field of financial dispute resolution include: representing an asset management subsidiary of a securities firm in a commercial paper asset transfer contract dispute, representing a securities company in handling a private equity fund contract dispute, representing an asset management company in an arbitration case concerning a debt financing agreement dispute with a corporation, representing a Shanghai limited partnership in an arbitration case regarding an equity repurchase dispute with a corporation, representing a trust company in a bond default dispute, and representing a state-owned asset management company in financial loan contract disputes and debt restructuring agreement disputes against a large private enterprise, etc.
