On February 3, 2026, the seminar titled "Focusing on Game IP, Building a Fortress for Innovative Protection" & White Paper Launch was successfully held in Guangzhou. Organized by the Guangzhou Game Industry Service Center and the Guangzhou Game Industry Association, and hosted by Llinks Law Offices with support from the Yangcheng Creative Industry Zone, the event aimed to implement national IP strategies and promote the integration of innovation and IP protection in the gaming industry. The seminar brought together government officials, judicial authorities, legal scholars, industry experts, and corporate representatives. Llinks partners Mr. James Wang, Mr. Denny Jiang, Mr. Xun Yang, and Senior Consultant Mr. Edward Wang attended the event.

A major highlight of the event was the official release of the new industry publication, Deciphering 100 Landmark Online Game Litigation Cases over the Decade (2014–2024). Authored by the "Red & Blue" legal team of Llinks Law Offices, the book systematically reviews 100 typical game litigation cases from the past ten years and extracts 100 core practical issues. Adopting a "problem-oriented" approach, the book analyzes dual-track protection paths through copyright and anti-unfair competition laws. Covering ten practical chapters including infringement determination, gameplay protection, and damages calculation, it tracks the evolution of judicial rulings from the initial denial of gameplay protection to the exploration of holistic protection. Each chapter includes a "Deep Reflection" section, balancing theoretical critique with practical guidance to provide a professional and practical reference for game enterprises, the judiciary, and academia.

During the launch segment, Mr. James Wang provided a comprehensive interpretation of the book's editorial philosophy, content structure, and industry value. He analyzed the evolution of judicial reasoning in landmark game cases over the past decade and its impact on corporate compliance and innovation based on his extensive practical experience.

Following the presentation, the official launch ceremony for the new book commenced. Wang Juan, President of the Guangzhou Game Industry Association, Professor Yang Xiongwen from South China University of Technology Law School, Professor Yao Zhiwei from Guangdong University of Finance and Economics Law School, and Llinks partner Mr. James Wang jointly took the stage to unveil the publication.

In the keynote session, Mr. James Wang delivered a speech titled "Rethinking the Paths of Copyright Protection for Games." He explored two core issues: first, whether the "game design configuration table," as a structured digital expression connecting gameplay rules and visual presentation, constitutes a new form of work under copyright law; second, he proposed a method for judging substantial similarity in dynamic screens using MMORPGs as samples, emphasizing a holistic and structural comparison based on the expression system composed of battle screens, spatial layouts, and NPC interfaces, rather than a simple deconstruction of elements. His insights provided attendees with new perspectives on copyright protection paths.

The hosting of this seminar provides significant theoretical support and practical guidance for IP protection in the gaming industry, injecting new vitality into high-quality and sustainable industrial development. Moving forward, Llinks will continue to collaborate with all stakeholders to build a fortress for innovation protection and support the high-quality development of the gaming industry.
