On September 28, 2025, upon the invitation of the Career Services Office and the Investment Banking and Law Firm Association of the Peking University School of Transnational Law (STL), Llinks Gaming Law Services team partner Mr. James Wang, partner Mr. Denny Jiang, and Senior Consultant Mr. Edward Wang visited the Peking University Shenzhen Graduate School. They held an in-depth and engaging session with students and faculty on the topic, "Matters Concerning Legal Services in the Gaming Industry."
Senior Consultant Edward Wang began the session by drawing on his long experience as a legal director at a gaming company. Mr. Wang shared insights into the current scale and trends of the gaming industry, the range of legal issues a gaming company may face from establishment to IPO, and the essential qualities and skills students interested in gaming law should cultivate.
Following this, Mr. James Wang and Mr. Denny Jiang leveraged the team's extensive experience handling cases involving game infringement and trade secrets. They provided a clear and accessible explanation of "what constitutes game infringement," the "boundary between imitation and plagiarism," and the judicial reasoning used in game infringement cases. Their presentation was interspersed with numerous stories from their casework, sparking keen interest and lively discussion among the attending students. The two partners advised the students to strengthen their theoretical foundation in copyright law, emphasize the importance of "facts," and maintain sensitivity to factual details to prepare for future legal practice.
