Llinks Law Offices, in partnership with LCouncil, successfully hosted the 'Intellectual Property Protection in the Digital Economy' seminar on September 24, 2024, in Shanghai, marking the 6th edition of Llinks' Business Intellectual Property Seminar for the year.
The seminar provided an in-depth exploration of intellectual property issues pertinent to the digital economy. Keynote speeches were delivered by esteemed partners from Llinks Law Offices, including Mr. James Wang, Mr. Xun Yang, Ms. Cherri Che, and Llinks associate Ms. Junli Xu, who engaged in enlightening discussions with attendees
The event commenced with Mr. Xun Yang introducing the Llinks Intellectual Property team, highlighting the expertise of its five partners and emphasising the team's commitment to a business-oriented approach, global perspective, industry insight, and comprehensive solution provision in intellectual property matters. Mr. Yang set the stage by discussing the unique characteristics of the digital economy and the challenges it poses to intellectual property law.
Subsequently, Mr. James Wang and Ms. Junli Xu presented an insightful analysis titled 'Interpreting the Highlights of the 'Interim Provisions against Unfair Competition Online' and Sharing Classic Case Studies'. They drew from their extensive experience to focus on 'false advertising' and 'data scraping', elucidating the compliance responsibilities and operational risks for platform companies.
Following Mr. Wang and Ms. Xu's presentations, Mr. Xun Yang, focusing on 'Data Rights Protection and Data Capitalisation', introduced a robust legal framework for safeguarding data rights and interests. By integrating practical case examples, Mr. Yang discussed the protection of data rights within the realm of intellectual property and the process of data capitalisation. He also proposed strategies for fully leveraging the value of data under conditions of data rights confirmation and compliance with data regulations.
After the refreshment break, Ms. Cherri Che delivered a presentation on 'Data Analysis and Application in Intellectual Property'. Ms. Che shared insights on the analysis and application of data across various scenarios such as technology transfer, mergers and acquisitions, product exportation, and patent mining, as well as addressing copyright, trademark, and trade secret protection in the digital age.
