Patrick Gu

Mr. Patrick Gu graduated from Fudan University Law School with an LL.B. degree and is qualified to practice law in the PRC. He possesses over 20 years of experience in labor, employment, and compliance, having worked at Shanghai labor and personnel dispute arbitration institutions, top-tier domestic and foreign law firms, and Fortune 500 companies. Mr. Gu previously served as an arbitrator for the Shanghai Labor and Personnel Dispute Arbitration Commission and is currently a member of the ESG Professional Committee of the 12th Shanghai Bar Association.

Mr. Gu specializes in advising clients on general commercial and daily operational compliance matters, providing comprehensive and customized legal services in the compliance sector. His expertise includes reviewing and advising on non-competition and proprietary agreements, advising on and implementing data privacy policies and business ethics codes, and formulating and executing anti-corruption and anti-bribery investigation plans. Additionally, he assists clients with interviewing and investigating employees for disciplinary violations, dismissing non-compliant personnel, and handling related crisis events and dispute resolutions. Mr. Gu also frequently provides legal counsel for complex matters involving mergers and acquisitions, employee transfers, departmental restructuring, and employee compensation and bonus planning.
