Mr. Shawn Qiu obtained his Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from Southwest University of Political Science and Law. Mr. Qiu joined Llinks in May 2020.
Mr. Qiu specializes in Civil and Commercial Dispute Resolution, particularly skilled in handling highly difficult and complex cases. His expertise spans multiple fields, including Real Estate and Construction Engineering, Investment and Finance, Corporate and Commercial Issues as well as Preservation and Enforcement.
In the area of Real Estate and Construction Engineering, Mr. Qiu has provided tailored legal services to clients across the entire industry chain - from developers and construction companies to commercial real estate operators and property management companies - covering all kinds of disputes within this area, such as development and construction, contract performance and property transactions.
In the area of Investment and Finance, Mr. Qiu is dedicated to providing professional legal services to a number of investment and finance clients, including but not limited to investors, funds, financial institutions, investee companies etc., covering different investment and finance disputes related to equity investment and fund/ partnership related matters.
In the area of Legal Counseling, Mr. Qiu has represented a number of enterprises (including listed companies, state-owned enterprises, leading private companies and foreign-invested enterprises) in dealing with legal issues on a daily basis.
Experience

Represented a well-known Singapore-listed real estate developer in a series of urban renewal disputes with a Shenzhen shareholding cooperative company and others, involving the government, developers and relocated owners, with total claims of approximately RMB 2 billion

Represented a well-known Shenzhen real estate group in a series of loan disputes with different creditors, with total claims of approximately RMB 1 billion, in which four cases were dismissed and four cases were stayed

Represented a large Shenzhen construction group in a retrial of a lease contract dispute against Mr. Tong, which went through three levels of courts and two remands for retrial, and ultimately obtained a reversal on retrial

Represented Mr. Liu, the founder of a well-known ceramics company, in a series of investment contract disputes with a well-known capital institution involving approximately RMB 70 million, and successfully added, for the first time, limited partners whose capital contribution periods had not yet expired as judgment debtors in enforcement proceedings

Represented six employees in a series of disputes with a well-known gaming group concerning signing fees, options and severance pay, involving approximately RMB 60 million, and successfully facilitated a settlement in which all parties agreed not to pursue claims against each other

Represented Mr. Wu, a well-known investor, and related funds in a series of partnership contract disputes with fund limited partners, and successfully defeated the opposing claims in Shenzhen and Hainan respectively
