On February 4, 2021, Llinks Law Offices jointly with The Legal 500, a world-renowned legal rating firm, successfully held a webinar named "Understanding potential cybersecurity related risks and the paths to compliance in China". Llinks Dr. David Pan, Mr. Xun Yang, and senior associate Mr. Nigel Zhu shared their experiences in Companies' Responsibilities and Obligations under China Cybersecurity Law, Cybersecurity Issues in Digital Transformation, and Compliance of Cybersecurity Products in China respectively.
In his speech on Companies' Responsibilities and Obligations under China Cybersecurity Law, Dr. David Pan first distinguishes "network operator" and "critical information infrastructure operator" and then explains multi-level protection scheme related obligations under Chinese laws. At the end of his speech, Dr. Pan introduces data classification and data management obligation in the context of relevant administrative penalty cases.
Mr. Xun Yang's talk is on Cybersecurity Issues in Digital Transformation. Mr. Yang introduces relevant industry permits and qualifications for foreign companies to enter the Chinese market, and then advises on foreign companies' brand strategy and intellectual property protection. Additionally, Mr. Yang takes multiple innovative Internet technologies as examples to address legal issues in detail to the attendees.
Focusing on the topic of "Compliance of Cybersecurity Products in China", Mr. Zhu talks about legal framework of cybersecurity products in China, introduces mandatory certification and licenses for cybersecurity products from perspectives of both sellers and buyers, and provides compliance tips for cybersecurity products users. Moreover, Mr. Zhu shares clients' real cases that he learnt in the process of providing legal services on cybersecurity products.
Over 200 in-house counsels, data protection officers and cybersecurity practitioners from several countries attended this webinar. At the end of the webinar, Dr. David Pan, Mr. Yang and Mr. Zhu answered the attendees' questions on cybersecurity and data compliance issues that companies are likely to encounter.
