On 29 November 2020, Llinks partner David Wu was invited by the Shandong Branch of China Chamber of International Commerce (CCOIC) and Ji'nan Arbitration Commission to participate in the "Shandong Forum on Foreign Law: International Sports Arbitration". The forum was hosted by Mr. Meng Zhaoze, member of the Foreign Law Committee of Shandong Branch of CCOIC, Mr. Qu Kunshan, Inspector of Shandong Council for Promotion of International Trade, and Mr. Liu Wanxiao, Vice Dean of the School of Economics and Trade Law of Shandong University of Political Science and Law, attended the forum together with nearly 60 practitioners from relevant industries.
During the forum, the participating experts started from their own practice and research fields, discussed from different perspectives on the revision of the Chinese Sports Law, the reform of the sport-related dispute resolution, and the practice in real cases. With the title of "Sports Arbitration and China ", Attorney Wu focused on the world's rapid changes, summarized the latest developments in global sports policy and current affairs, and analyzed the potential connection between the international and domestic arbitration mechanism.
Mr. Lu Wenjie, director of the Foreign Law Committee of Shandong Branch of CCOIC, pointed out in his summary, that the discussion on international sports arbitration is of far-reaching significance on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the implementation of the Chinese Sports Law and the preparation for the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics. Under such background, Chinese sports law professionals shall follow the spirit of reform and innovation, improve the quality of sports development, and continue to put forward ideas for the future of China's sports industry.
