On 12 November 2020, Llinks partner David Wu was invited by the Sports Law Research Institute of Shanghai University of Political Science and Law as a keynote speaker at the "Frontier Forum". The lecture was attended by Mr. Tan Xiaoyong, Deputy Leader of the Sports Law Research Group of the Shanghai Law Society and Dean of the Sports Law Research Institute of Shanghai University of Political Science and Law, Mrs. Xiang Huiying, Secretary-General of the Sports Law Research Group of the Shanghai Law Society and Vice Dean of the Sports Law Research Institute of Shanghai University of Political Science and Law, Mr. Jiang Xi, Vice Dean of the Sports Law Institute of Shanghai University of Political Science and Law, together with Mr. Xu Shiwei, Vice Dean of the Sports Law Institute of Shanghai University of Political Science and Law. The lecture attracted more than 100 attendants.
The lecture was themed "Sports Industry Development and Dispute Resolution", which aims to guide the freshmen to form a preliminary understanding of the sports industry in the early stages of their study. To this end, David started from an industrial perspective and elaborated on the legal rights of various entities such as athletes, sports associations and event organizations. He also explained the heated issues including intangible assets protection, competition balance, and investment development in sports projects based on practical cases, which aroused the strong interest of the audience. Subsequently, David turned the audiences' attention to dispute resolution from a professional point of view, and gave a comprehensive overview of the "domestic-intercontinental-international" system of global sports arbitration. The audiences were also brainstorming in their constant understanding of industrial phenomena and the focus of the case, asking questions and formed a comprehensive understanding of the various dimensions in the expertise of sports.
