On 14 July 2020, Llinks Partner David Wu was invited by Shanghai University of Sport to present a lecture themed "The Status and Duties of Sports Agents". Among the series of lectures for the university's comprehensive improvement program, the lecture attracted nearly 300 teachers and students to actively participate.
With the vigorous development of China's sports industry and the strong promotion from policy level, the demand for talents in sports agency is receiving continuous attention. Shanghai University of Sport is steadily advancing under the "Double Tops Universities Program", to fill the gaps in this field of practice. In this regard, Attorney Wu started from the general development of the global sports agent market, explained the multiple roles played by agents from a business perspective, and analyzed the requirements of modern sports for the agents. Based on years of legal practice, he carefully sorted out the reform of status and rules of agents in the industry, and cited milestone domestic and foreign sports precedents of football and basketball, explained in detail the agents' practice ethics and responsibilities.
This lecture covered all stages throughout the sports agent's practice, business development, value development, risk response, etc., and was well received by the online audiences.
