On 12 December 2019, Llinks held the 2nd annual "CHINA INSIGHTS SEMINAR" in London. Ms. Yuhua YANG, Mr. Charles CHEN, Mr. Xun YANG and Mr. Vincent MU from Llinks hosted the seminar and delivered talks focusing on recent developments in Chinese legal and regulatory issues. This seminar was well attended and received by a local London audience.
With the Shanghai – London Stock Connect eventually being launched this past June, China's financial opening up accelerated in the summer and a historical liberalization will take place in 2020 with the entry into force of the new Foreign Investment Law. The seminar started with a review of the past year and proceeded with key developments to watch out for in 2020 (Yuhua YANG), and was then followed by specific discussions related to financing business in China (Charles CHEN), cyber security, data compliance and IP protections and their critical importance to the life science and financial sectors (Xun YANG). In the end, inevitable dispute resolution topics were explored and practical Chinese arbitration experiences were shared with the participants (Vincent MU).
This is the second annual seminar organized by Llinks' London office. This type of regular event focusing on China has been well received by London professional communities.
