On September 26, 2019, Llinks Partner Attorney David Wu was invited with his colleagues Tomas Pereda and Giandonato Marino to visit the headquarter of the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (hereinafter referred to as the "FIFA") at Zurich, Switzerland at the invitation of Mr. Gallavotti, former member of the FIFA Dispute Resolution Committee, current director of secretariat to the FIFA Independent Committee.
During the visit, Mr. Wu and Mr. Gallavotti exchanged their opinions on the future development plan of FIFA, and shared their views on further reform on present rules, competition system and business development. Mr. Gallavotti highlighted the importance that FIFA has been attaching to Asian football, especially the recognition and support on recent Chinese football development. FIFA will keep seeking to strengthen its dominance together with national football associations under the strong promotion of Mr. Infantino, and gradually enrich the competition and scheduling system, so that Chinese football, as well as Asian football will be able to gain more equal opportunities in large-scale competitions, gaining more international attention and guiding more football practitioners and enthusiasts into the industry. FIFA is also looking forward to joining hands with Chinese forces to jointly promote the culture of football in Asia, Africa and other parts of the world.
Chinese football has been striving in 2019 for reform and innovation, encouraging all football practitioners to deeply understand the needs of the industry and actively respond to policy calls.
