From July 19 to July 21, 2019, Attorney David Wu, Partner of Llinks Law Offices was invited to speak at the seminar for "Leading International Lawyers Program on International Arbitration", held by the "Belt and Road" Legal Service Institute of Guangdong Lawyers Association and the International Chamber of Commerce ("ICC") Court of Arbitration. Nearly 30 lawyers and arbitrators from ICC, Guangzhou Lawyers Association and Shenzhen Arbitration Commission attended the seminar, including Attorney Tao Jingzhou, Attorney Zhang Shiyun, Attorney Mao Maoda, Attorney Zhong Li, Attorney Huang Xilin, Attorney Ye Weina, Attorney Fang Zhaowen, Attorney Jia Hongwei, and Mr. Li Yu, Mr. Yang Liangyi, Mr. Bao Qian, Mr. Fan Mingchao.
The seminar was divided into two sessions: the open course, then the symposium on international arbitration. During the open course, the participants were presented with the entire procedure of international arbitration, which helpfully enhanced their understanding of international arbitration. The international arbitration symposium was later held in the form of combination of lectures, group discussion and arbitration moot court. The lecturers gave their speeches on all aspects of international arbitration, combining their thoughts and understanding from their own experience.
During the symposium, Attorney Wu, based on his rich experience as an arbitrator of Court of Arbitration for Sports, delivered his lecture themed "Dispute Resolution and Arbitration in Sports Industry". The lecture focused on the similarities and differences between international sports arbitration and commercial arbitration, introduced the global system of dispute resolution in sports, and further put forward his expectations for sports arbitration in China.
This seminar successfully presented the comprehensive mechanism of international arbitration, available to 14 law offices and law schools ranging from nine provinces (Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, Shandong, Hebei, Henan, Zhejiang, Jiangsu and Xinjiang) through nationwide live broadcasting, reached a click volume over 250,000 on the Internet.
