On 13 April 2019, Collections of Thematic Studies on Medical Law published by National Publication Foundation was successfully launched and held, also called Development and Risk Prevention of Big Data Seminar, at Fudan University in Shanghai. The seminar was organized by Civil Law Research Institute of China Law Society, co-hosted and sponsored by China Legal Publishing House, Medical Law Research Center of Fudan University and Llinks Law Offices, etc. Llinks Partner Dr. David Pan, Mr. Xun Yang, and Mr. Baker Chen were invited to attend the seminar. Combining with practice experience in the areas of big health and life sciences, three attorneys separately delivered speeches on how to solve the data legal problems by legislation, which are arose in the industry in recent years.
The seminar focused on the topic of big data's development and risk prevention which discussed and exchanged on compilation of Civil Law Code, development of medical industry, social risks, ethical censorship, etc. Mr. Shiguo Liu, Professor of Fudan University Law School, Mr. Zhiqiang Wang, the dean of Fudan University Law School, and Ms. Dan Shu, Assistant Chief Editor of China Legal Publishing House, were invited to attend the event and gave speeches.
In the session of academic report on big data and medical risk prevention, Mr. Baker Chen moderated and exchanged with attendees on relevant legal issues and he also proposed his thoughts on medical industry under big data.
Mr. Xun Yang presented at the seminar on the topic of "Protection and Sharing of Medical Information in Three Dimensions of Individual, Corporate and Country". Mr. Yang spoke about the characteristics and value of medical information, analyzed the legal position of medical information, and advised on protecting personal information security.
Dr. David Pan delivered a speech on the topic of "Analyze the Improvements of Medical Data Law". Dr. Pan discussed on the understanding and value of big data, defects of present laws, and the improvements of medical big data legal system, etc.
More than 60 experts, scholars, professors and legal professionals from academic and legal circles attended the seminar. Through interaction and exchanges, they provided legislative suggestions from the perspectives of theory and practice on the Civil Law Code contract compilation, personality right compilation, and tort liability compilation, etc. Also they discussed about issues regarding developments and risk prevention of big data and medical industry in practice, the improvements of big data and ethical censorship, etc.
