On 14 April 2019, the 3rd Shanghai Data Security and Privacy Protection Summit & the 3rd China Law Association on Science &Technology (CLAST) Innovation and Rule of Law Forum was held in Hotel Equatorial Shanghai. Llinks partner Dr. David Pan was invited to attend the forum and gave a speech.
Dr. Pan gave a presentation at the forum on the topic of "Myth about Definition and Ownership of Personal Information - From the Perspective of Application Scenarios". Combining with application scenarios, Dr. Pan analyzed how to apply the standard of "Identifiable personal information" in specific situations from the perspectives of definition and ownership of personal information. He also discussed the ownership of anonymized information and personal information as well as the problem of "Impossible Triangle" in the data legal policy.
Naiwei Chen, Vice President of CLAST and Professor of Fudan University Law School, and Leiming Sheng, Vice President of All China Lawyers Association and Shanghai Law Society, attended the forum and gave speeches. Bu Shou, Vice President of CLAST and Director of the Cyberspace Governance Research Center of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, hosted the opening ceremony.
Over 230 representatives from corporates, law firms, agencies and universities were invited to attend the forum. The atmosphere during the forum kept lively.
