The Cybersecurity Law Compliance Seminar Session Two, hosted by AmCham Shanghai, took place on 23 August 2018. David PAN, partner of Llinks, was invited to share viewpoints for the second CSL Seminar session.
China's Cybersecurity Law (CSL) has ushered in a new era of tighter government regulation over the internet. Although the law has been in effect for almost a year, companies operating in China continue to face challenges in understanding and complying with the law. To provide member companies with a better understanding of the law, AmCham Shanghai is launching a new government policy seminar series on the CSL. The three-part seminar series will provide members with in-depth analysis and strategies from Chinese officials, legal experts and academics on how to manage the CSL. Seminar sessions will focus on Critical Information Infrastructure, management of personal identity information, data localization, and Cyber security strategies.
David Pan was once again invited to participate in the second seminar and held an in-depth group discussion with domestic and foreign data security experts such as Paul El Khoury, Richard Bell, and Han Lai. The discussion topics covered compliance related issues such as critical information infrastructure (CII) and data localization storage. The experts expressed and shared their own viewpoints and offered practical recommendations from the perspective of law, law enforcement practices and technology.
To help enterprises clearly understand their responsibilities and obligations under Cyber Security Law, Llinks' network security and data service team has launched a series of bilingual guidelines called "Practice 30 Questions on Network Security Law "since 1 June. This series guidelines aim to help enterprises comply with regulations, and effectively prevent risks by the Interpretation of legal provisions, combined with typical practice cases, in-depth analysis of corporate responsibilities and obligations.
