28 August 2018, the 2018 Athlete Security Seminar (the "Seminar") was held in Qingdao. Llinks partner, Mr. David Wu, was invited to speak on management of employment and personnel relations as well as protection of intangible assets of athletes and sports institutions. Based on the current progress of sport reform cause, Mr. David introduced the legal risks arising from the development and protection of intangible assets, and discussed the obstacles and issues in the management of employment and personnel relations with retired athletes in the perspective of athletes and sports institutions.
This Seminar was sponsored by Human Resources Development Center of General Administration of Sport of China (the "Center"), and organized by China Marine Sports Academy (the "Academy"). Founded in 1953, the Academy is the birthplace of national heroes in marine sports. Chun Qu, Principal of the Academy, is currently Vice-president of Chinese Yachting Association. Xiaodong Zhang, former Principal of the Academy and current President of Chinese Yachting Association, is the first world champion in sailboard in the Chinese history.
The security measures implemented by the Center for athletes active and retired are quite forward-looking. Combined the characteristics of athletes in our country with policies in the deepening reform phase of sport cause, the Center has designed systematic study materials and training courses conforming to the purposes and spirits of International Olympics Committee on athlete career development. Along with David, Bo Chu, Director of Department of Policy and Law of General Administration of Sport of China, Shaomeng Wu, Director of Athlete Development and Security Division of Department of Human Resources, Xinfang Zhang, Director of Human Resources Services Department of the Center also speak before the Seminar. Around 70 officials from the personnel and athletes security departments of general and provincial sport administrations attended the Seminar.
