On 12 January 2018, Llinks partner, David Wu attended the Consulting Members' Forum of the Shanghai Alternative Hearing Centre of the Court of Arbitration for Sport, being one of the consulting members.
The forum was hosted by Mr. Yiping CHEN, General Counsel of the Hearing Centre and attended by Mr. Chunfu MA, Director of the Hearing Centre, Mr. Caixing WANG, Counsel, Mr. Shiping YU, Deputy Commissioner of Policy & Regulation Department of Shanghai Sports Bureau, Professor Song LU, China Foreign Affairs University, and other experts.
The members of the forum shared their views regarding the management and administration of the Hearing Centre, as well as concerning their tasks as consulting members.
Mr. Wu, basing his suggestions on comparisons with admissible disputes before CAS, shared his ideas on the work orientation of the CAS Shanghai Alternative Hearing Centre. Mr. David WU, CAS arbitrator since 2011 with remarkable experience both in domestic and international sports related disputes, provided assistance to the Shanghai Sports Bureau and CAS in order to establish in Shanghai the first oversea hearing center.
Afterwards, the members presented their suggestions and prospects regarding the role of the CAS Shanghai Alternative Hearing Centre in relation to the development of sports law in Asia, as well as the sports dispute resolution systems in China.
Finally, the members expressed their commitment to foster the practice of sports dispute resolution in China, actively taking part to the development of the CAS Shanghai Alternative Hearing Centre.
