On 9 December 2017, Llinks' Partner Mr. David Wu participated in the "Academic Seminar on Legal Regulation about the Winter Olympics" held at Hebei University. Mr. Wu gave a lecture on the dispute resolutions during the Olympic Games. The seminar involved the top experts of Sports Law and legal issues related to Olympics in China, including: Mr. Liu, President of the Sports Law Society of China Law Association; Mr. Ma, Director of Legal Affairs of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics and Paralympics Organizational Committee; Professor Tian, School of Law of Tsinghua University; Professor Ren, Beijing Sport University.
The experts discussed and underlined the importance of legal research on the protection of the Beijing Winter Olympics. The following topics were discussed: retrospection and introspection on the legal framework of Olympic Games in China; the current legal framework for 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, as well as the peculiarities of the law behind the Olympic Games. Mr. Wu gave a detailed description of specific procedures for the Ad hoc division of CAS during Olympic Games, describing the cases that he dealt while he was appointed as an Arbitrator in 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics. Additionally. In addition to that, Mr. Wu described briefly the Anti-doping Division of CAS in the last Olympic Games (2016 Rio Olympic Games).
