In September 2017, Mr. David Wu has been involved in the publication of the sports law book called "Disciplinary procedures in Football: An International and Comparative Analysis" as one of the co-authors. The book itself provides a quite unique content, counting with the participation of some of the most reputable and experienced members of the football legal system.
The book is co-edited by Mr. Marc Cavaliero, attorney and former Chairman of the FIFA Disciplinary Committee as well as Mr. Michele Colucci, lawyer, professor and member of the FIFA Dispute Resolution Chamber. It counts with the involvement of the most renowned sports lawyers, CAS arbitrators and prestigious members of different sporting governing bodies and other institutions of the international sports system. Among them, it can be remarked the participation of Mr. Motta (Neymar's lawyer), Mr. Barak (one of the most prestigious CAS arbitrator), Mr. Lucas Ferrer (Barcelona FC's lawyer), Mr. Kitching (Head of Sports Legal Services, Disciplinary and Governance at AFC), Mr. Garcia (Managing director integrity at UEFA), among others.
The book is focused on three topics: (1) The outline of the international framework and judicial bodies as well as CAS jurisprudence in the field, together with the relevant international rules as adopted by FIFA and its confederations; (2) National disciplinary legal systems and an overview of its background and regulations; (3) Exhaustive comparative analysis aiming at finding and showing any existing coherence at both international and national level regarding the rules and sanctions and their enforcement.
In this regard, David has been the party responsible of drafting the chapter related to the disciplinary system and its procedures in China, managed by the China Football Association CFA.
