Sponsored by the East China University of political science and Shanghai Institute of Political Science and Law, the seventh session of "MOOT Shanghai" held two simulation arbitration games on the afternoon of March 22, 2017 in Llinks' Office. Participants were Fudan University, Loyola University Chicago School of law (Loyola University Chicago School of Law), East China University of political science and the University of Helsinki (University of Helsinki). Among them, the Fudan University was an applicant to face the Loyola University Chicago law school as a respondent, and the University of Helsinki was an applicant against the East China University of politics and law as the respondent. Event organizer invited 5 lawyers from Llinks Law Offices and Mr. Randolph Khoo from Drew & Napier LLC (Singapore) to serve as arbitrators for two games.
As the preseason of Willem C. Vis international commercial arbitration, "MOOT Shanghai" has successfully held six sessions, which were influential events at home and abroad. "MOOT Shanghai" played a major role in showcasing law school students of their language level, legal thinking, and debating ability. The tournament is hosted by the most knowledgeable domestic and foreign well-known law firms such as the Arbitration Institute of the International Chamber of Commerce Shanghai International Arbitration Center, Shanghai Lawyers Association, Hong Kong International Arbitration Center, Singapore International Arbitration Center support, Adamas, Chance, Clifford and assist CMS, Dacheng, Fonda, Lovells, Hogan, Latham, Jun Tongda & Watkins, and Llinks Law Offices.
All contestants carefully prepared, with rigorous logical thinking and excellent performance in the case of the procedural and substantive argument after the game, each arbitrator talked about their own years of experience in arbitration. Each arbitrator participated in the commercial simulation of arbitration experience, by explaining to the players on the spot performance about the importance of team cooperation and language ability. The arbitrators also made personal suggestions to individuals on how to improve.
