On July 6, 2026, the press conference for the 2026 season of the CPB Chinese Baseball City League (hereinafter referred to as the "CPB League") Summer Solstice League was grandly held in Shanghai, concurrently launching the new season's draft. The highly anticipated Summer Solstice League will officially commence on August 13, marking a brand-new stage for this high-level baseball event jointly guided by the Chinese Baseball Association and the Baseball Federation of Asia. The Summer Solstice League, set to begin on August 13, features six club teams, with regular-season games taking place in Shanghai and Shenzhen. The Shanghai stadium is located in the West Bund area of Xuhui District, adjacent to the Huangpu River. It is the only baseball stadium in central Shanghai featuring spectator seating and operated under a commercialized concept.
Liang Tang, Vice President of the Chinese Baseball Association; Lan Wei, Deputy District Mayor of Xuhui District, Shanghai; Erzhang Wei, Director of the President's Office of the Baseball Federation of Asia; Ying Zhang, Director of the Xuhui District Sports Bureau; Zi Zhang, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and General Manager of West Bund Group; Zhijun Li, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Hunan Xiangjiang New Area Development Group Co., Ltd.; Chunxiang Huang, Vice President of Orange Lion Sports; and Longzhi Hu, Secretary-General of the CPB League Organizing Committee, among other leaders and guests, were invited to attend. Liang Tang, Vice President of the Chinese Baseball Association, delivered the opening speech, kicking off the upcoming Summer Solstice League. The player rosters from six teams, including the Shanghai Orcas Baseball Club, officially assembled and made their debut, with 34 outstanding players selected by the clubs through the Super Round and Talent Round.
