On April 9, 2026, to deepen international exchanges in sports law, broaden frontiers in foreign-related sports legal practice, and promote the integration of theory and practice, the International Sports Arbitration and Rule of Law Research Center of East China University of Political Science and Law (ECUPL) successfully held a Seminar on International Sports Arbitration and an Expert Appointment Ceremony.
Ms. Dongying Hong, Vice President of ECUPL, attended the ceremony. Llinks partner Mr. David Wu and world-renowned sports law expert Mr. Juan de Dios Crespo Pérez (founder of Ruiz‑Huerta & Crespo and President of the Association Internationale des Avocats du Football (AIAF)) were appointed as Expert Advisors to the ECUPL International Sports Arbitration and Rule of Law Research Center.
Following the ceremony, the experts visited the new site of the CAS Shanghai Alternative Hearing Centre—the first hearing center established by the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Asia located on the ECUPL campus—and the former site of the All-China Sports Federation (the predecessor of the Chinese Olympic Committee), reflecting on sports history and the heritage of the sporting spirit.
Llinks lawyer Mr. Roy Chu participated in the seminar and provided translation support. The lecture included in-depth discussions on recent hot topics in sports law, such as the Diarra case, the Serán case, and the controversy surrounding the Africa Cup of Nations championship.
