On June 21, 2025, the "Diversified Resolution of Sports Disputes and Commemoration of the Third Anniversary of the Revision of the Sports Law" seminar was successfully held in Chongli District, Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province. The seminar was co-organized by the Sports Law Research Society of the China Law Society, the Sports Law Research Base of China University of Political Science and Law, and the (Zhangjiakou) Research Base for Legal Issues in Ice and Snow Sports, and hosted by the People's Court of Chongli District, Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province. As a key academic event in the field of sports law in China, the seminar brought together renowned legal experts and sports practitioners nationwide to engage in in-depth discussions on the implementation of the Sports Law and the improvement of sports dispute resolution mechanisms.
Llinks partner Mr. David Wu was invited to attend the seminar and delivered a keynote speech. Focusing on the topic "Revision of the Sports Law and China's Sports Arbitration System," Mr. Wu reviewed the background and process of the revision, shared details of his participation in the discussions and formulation of relevant provisions as a member of the "Sports Arbitration" working group, and provided a comprehensive introduction to the establishment, coordination, and development of the China Sports Arbitration Commission. Emphasizing the principle of "governing sports by law and cultivating people through sports," Mr. Wu offered profound insights to the attendees.
The seminar also served as the first day of the 9th Training Program for Arbitrators of the China Sports Arbitration Commission. The training program prioritized theoretical guidance and marked the first collaboration with a thematic academic conference of the Sports Law Research Society, firmly grounding itself in the forefront of sports arbitration practice. The second day of the program featured specialized discussions on drafting sports arbitration awards, aiming to enhance practical arbitration skills.
As a member and arbitrator of the China Sports Arbitration Commission, Mr. Wu participated in all activities of the training program in Chongli, Hebei. Nearly 80 arbitrators attended the training either on-site or online, further strengthening their professional capabilities.
