On 29 November 2024, the 3rd China M&A and Restructuring Forum took place at the University of International Business and Economics. The event was jointly organised by the M&A and Restructuring Research Centre of the University of International Business and Economics, the M&A and Investment Research Institute of Renmin University of China, and the International Business Law Research Centre of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences University, with support from Caixin Data and the China Enterprise Evaluation Association.
Approximately 400 delegates from state authorities, regulatory bodies, top-tier think tanks, the financial sector, corporate entities, and intermediary organisations convened to delve into the "three new" characteristics of M&A and restructuring, as well as the policies, theories, and practical aspects of the field. Llinks' partner, Ms. Amy Ren, was invited to the forum and engaged in a spirited roundtable discussion on the topic of "Strategic Expansion and Integration in the New Economy: M&A and Restructuring" with other distinguished guests.
The forum also debuted several key outcomes. Following a rigorous selection process that involved a broad call for submissions, the organising committee, in collaboration with industry experts, curated and revealed the "Top 10 M&A and Restructuring Cases of 2024". Among these, the restructuring of SCRG by CATL, which was managed by Llinks' insolvency and restructuring team, stood out as the only insolvency restructuring case to be included in the prestigious list of the year's most notable cases.
The successful held forum served not only as a vibrant exchange for professionals in the M&A and restructuring arena but also as a catalyst for the capital market and M&A and restructuring practices, breathing new life into the dynamic growth of China's M&A and restructuring landscape.
