On July 19, 2024, the Hubei Provincial Re-guarantee Group and Financing Guarantee Association of Hubei co-hosted the second 'Jing Chu Guarantee Lecture Hall'. The event focused on the current state of data asset development and its potential applications in the financial guarantee sector. The goal was to enhance the understanding of data assets among financial guarantee institutions.
More than 130 members of the Financing Guarantee Association of Hubei participated in the seminar, either in-person or at remote locations nationwide. Attendees included executives and staff responsible for business and risk management at various financial guarantee institutions.
Llinks partner Dr. David Pan was invited to deliver a keynote speech on 'Data Compliance and Data Asset Inclusion'.
Dr. Pan delivered a comprehensive presentation on 'Data Compliance and Data as an Asset', providing in-depth yet accessible insights into the legal and compliance landscape for enterprise data.
He began by elucidating the fundamental value of data, followed by a detailed overview of China's evolving data protection regulatory environment. Dr. Pan then delved into the core compliance considerations for personal information protection, network security, and data security.
Addressing the critical issue of 'data asset listing', Dr. Pan shared practical guidance based on his experience, including an analysis of the legal framework, real-world case studies, and key compliance audit checkpoints, aiming to equip attendees with the knowledge to navigate complex challenges, such as data rights verification, in this emerging field.
A distinguished panel of speakers convened in the lecture hall. This group included leaders from the Department of Finance of Hubei Province, experts from Grant Thornton, and representatives from both the Hubei Huazhong Culture Property Rights Exchange and the Wuhan Intellectual Property Exchange. Together, they presented insights on the critical topic of data assets.
The lecture hall has received overwhelmingly positive feedback from member units, indicating that the training effectively enhanced participants' understanding of data asset development. To build upon this success, the next phase will focus on strengthening data compliance, leveraging the unique data resources within the financial guarantee industry, and accelerating the overall progress of data asset management and digital transformation.
