The Second Shanghai International Arbitration Summit Forum ('the Forum') took place in Shanghai on 24 September, 2023. Mr. Jianyong Wu, Secretary of the Party Committee and Director of the Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Justice, attended the Forum and delivered a speech There were more than 160 people attended the forum, which included Mr. Lie Song, member of the Party Committee and Deputy Director of the Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Justice, officers of the relevant divisions of the Municipal Bureau of Civil Affairs and the Municipal Bureau of Justice, as well as members of the Shanghai Arbitration Association.

The Shanghai Arbitration Association (SHAA) is the first arbitration association established by a provincial judicial administration in China. The establishment of SHAA marks a great step forward for the Shanghai municipality to actively contribute the reform and innovation of China's arbitration. The association will continue to maintain an innovative and open spirit and strengthen its own management and service mechanism. It will keep promoting and publicizing China's arbitration by enhancing exchanges and cooperation between domestic and foreign arbitration institutions and the legal service industry, as well as improving the internationalization of arbitration in Shanghai. It will also strive for an optimized legal business environment to build Shanghai into a globalized arbitration center in the APAC region.
