On November 17, 2022, Partner Dr. David Pan and Contractual Partner Mr. Nigel Zhu of Llinks Law Offices LLP, were invited to the 6th Panel Discussion of Year 2022 on Cybersecurity, Personal Information Protection and Compliance, which was hosted by the Global Intelligence Communications China Ltd (GIC).
This panel discussion invited law practitioners and other professionals from a number of well-known domestic and foreign companies, to discuss in-depth on data compliance issues that emerged one year after the PIPL has come into effect. It aims to address problems that companies concern most, summarize compliance practices in the industry and provide participants with practical solutions. Dr. David Pan and Mr. Nigel Zhu attended the panel discussion and delivered speeches on the above topics. Mr. Nigel Zhu, as the chairman, presided over the second half of the panel discussion.
In the first half of the Panel Discussion, Dr. David Pan introduced a recent data case to start the topic "From Case to Law: Communication with Counterparties - The Key to Success in Data Compliance". Furthermore, he summarized the difficulties in data compliance practice, sorted out and shared with the participants practical compliance rectification advice, which received unanimous praise.
In the second half of the panel discussion, Mr. Nigel Zhu focused on the "Interpretation of Guidelines for Data Cross-border Assessment", combined with his latest experience in practice, providing first-hand information on data cross-border assessment filing for the participants. Mr. Zhu explained every material necessary for the assessment mentioned in the Filing Guidelines for Data Cross-border Security Assessment (First Edition), and shared his insights with the participants.
