On 11 March 2022, Mr. David Wu participated as arbitrator in the first-round moot sessions organized on-line by the Sports Arbitration Moot. The hearing faced a University of Denmark, representing a football official as Appellant, against a University of France, representing FIFA as respondent in a fictitious case of bribery as regards the organization of the FIFA World Cup.
The Sports Arbitration Moot is a world class moot competition to promote greater knowledge of the values and rules of international sports arbitration, which involves the participation of students from all parts of the world. It intends to introduce sports arbitration to the next generation of arbitration practitioners.
The moot is partnered with FIFA, the Swiss Arbitration Academy and the University of Neuchatel and it counts with the participation of the most prominent actors in the field of sports law worldwide such as CAS Arbitrators, sports lawyers, professors and members from federations as FIFA or UEFA, among others.
