On January 18, 2022, Llinks partner David Wu was invited to participate in the live broadcast on "Sports Arbitration During the Olympic Games", the first broadcast of "Sports Dispute Resolution" Series jointly organized by China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission ("CIETAC"), Sina Finance and Tencent SSV Communication Department. Mr. Wang Chengjie, Deputy Director and Secretary General of CIETAC, delivered the opening speech for the series. Mr. Huang Jin, Professor of Institute of Comprehensively Advancing Rule of Law of China University of Political Science and Law, President of Chinese Society of International Law and Senior Arbitrator of CIETAC, acted as the moderator. Mr. Tao Jingzhou, Professor Lu Song and David Wu acted as panelists, discussing the sports arbitration during the Olympic Games.
During the broadcast, David Wu, combined with his personal experience as a CAS ad hoc arbitrator for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia, shared with the audience the development of international sports ad hoc arbitration, the similarities and differences between ad-hoc arbitration and ordinary arbitration procedure at CAS, the differences between international sports arbitration and commercial arbitration, and the expectation of ad hoc arbitration for the Beijing Winter Olympic Games.
The live broadcast attracted more than 50,000 viewers through online live platforms.
