On 21 December 2021, Llinks partner Mr. David Wu (WU Wei) was invited to participate in the promulgation event of sports law in CCTV 'Society and Law' and shared his insight on 'How to deal with athletes' contract disputes'. The event was launched by CCTV 'Society and Law' channel through live broadcast of four platforms viz. CCTV.com, Sina Weibo, Tiktok and Kwai. The audience can also re-visit the entire video content of 'How to deal with athletes' contract disputes' through the CCTV App. Experts and scholars from the Sports Law Research Institute of China University of Political Science and Law were also invited.
This year coincides with the revision of the 'Sports Law of PRC'. In order to realize the nation's goal of 'law based governance of the sports industry' and strengthening the sports power development strategy, while continuously improving China's sports-legal system, it is also essential to actively advocate sports-legal education and strengthen the legal awareness among key groups in accordance with rules of law. In this context, CCTV's 'Society and Law' channel brings together domestic experts and scholars in the field of sports law with advanced research results and professional experience in the field of sports law. Through CCTV and other major network platforms, this law popularization activity was successfully launched.
The event was composed of seven live sessions such as 'What is Sports Law?', 'Why is mass fitness necessary?', 'What is Sports Arbitration?' and so on. These educational sessions were respectively delivered by seven domestic experts and scholars. Llinks partner Mr Wu's shared his insights on 'How to deal with athletes' contract disputes' by referring to his own practical experience and professional knowledge. He also introduced the nature of an athlete contract to the audience, systematically analyzed the common disputes and typical cases in handling an athlete contract and put forward his professional opinions on the future handling methods of the athlete contract disputes, allowing more people to form a preliminary and comprehensive understanding of contract disputes that often occur in the sports field.
