On November 30, 2021, Mr. Wu Wei (David WU), partner of Llinks Law Offices, was invited by TJ Sports to provide certification training regarding anti-match fixing and anti-betting for the management officers of the League of Legends Professional League (LPL) clubs. With EDG winning the S11 League of Legends global finals, e-sports once again aroused the attention of the whole society. To this end, TJ Sports, as the organizer of LPL, has determined to further improve the management of club managers and practitioners to ensure the healthy and stable development of e-sports.
With the booming of e-sports industry, LPL have already become a phenomenal professional league of e-sports. In the process of professionalization and commercialization of the league, TJ Sports has been gradually established the governance mechanism of the league so to protect the healthy and sustainable development of the e-sports industry. TJ Sports carried out a two-day professional training with a total of 7 courses, which focused on social responsibility, values, patriotism, sportsmanship, anti-match fixing and anti-gambling in e-sports. TJ Sports has also conducted an assessment of all personnel, aiming to ensure that the comprehensive ability and professionalism of the club managers get improved.
By referring to relevant cases in the field of e-sports and traditional mainstream sports events as a reference, and combining with long-term practical experience in sports law business, Mr. WU provides training to club officers with regard to how to avoid match fixing and gambling in e-sports as well as educated the relevant legal responsibilities. The lecture provided by Mr. WU was informative and educative, which allows audiences to have a clearer understanding of illegal activities, and helped them to maintain correct values, social responsibility and sportsmanship.
