On 17 June 2021, Llinks Technology Law Expert Mr. Xun Yang was invited to attend PE/VC Forum for Fudan Alumni and delivered a speech on the Risk Management and Intellectual Property Protections for Innovative Life Science Companies----in the View of founders and investors. Tens of practitioners, investors, and relevant professionals in life science companies participated in the forum.
By citing experience in recent years for creative life science companies, Mr. Xun Yang discussed the risks of IP leakages and infringement and feasible solutions to mitigate the risks from various phases in life science companies, such as the recruitment of research and development teams, management of research and development, intellectual property portfolio planning, technology transactions, and IPOs. In his presentation, Mr. Xun Yang pointed out that, technology is the vitality in life science companies, and intellectual property is the protective wall of such vitality. Both founders and investors must pay attention to intellectual property issues in early stages, mitigating the intellectual property risk as much as possible, well preparing for the development and listing application of companies. Moreover, the protection and risk management of intellectual property must not be limited to patent applications, but be extended to the development of management systems of companies, the implementation of intellectual property system, and the performance of a series of contracts and other legal measures.
