In May 2021, Dr. David Pan, a partner of Llinks Law Office LLP, was invited to conduct a training titled "Personal Information Protection in the Insurance Industry" for China Pacific Insurance (Group) Co., Ltd. (CPIC). More than 100 key legal personnel and property insurance management personnel from CPIC and its branch companies attended this lecture, and part of branch personnel participated in a dial-in manner.
Based on the characteristics and practices of customer information use in the insurance industry, Dr. David Pan introduced relevant laws and regulations, national standards and industry standards, and shared his practical experience. Combining with law enforcement cases, Dr. David Pan deeply analyzed several important issues in the insurance industry, including customer authorization and consent, excessive collection of personal information, biometric personal information processing, third-party compliance management, user profile and marketing, App compliance and special requirements for online insurance, and discussed extensively with attendees about judicial precedents involving personal financial information, including distribution of burden of proof in civil litigation, and unit crimes and natural crimes that infringe on personal information. At the end of the training, Dr. David Pan shared his observation of law enforcement practices and trends, and put forward compliance advice on the establishment of personal information protection systems and security management and control for insurance companies. The training Dr. David Pan delivered received a positive and overwhelming response.
