From 28 to 30 April 2021, Llinks partner David Wu was invited to attend the 2021 Annual Meeting of the China Association for Sports Law. The meeting was organized by Shanghai University of Political Science and Law, co-organized by the Shanghai Law Society Sports Law Research Committee and the Sports Law Research Institute of Shanghai University of Political Science and Law. As the head of the Shanghai Bar Association Sport Committee, David Wu is also the only vice-director of the China Association for Sports Law as a practicing lawyer. Experts and scholars from universities, scientific research institutions, law firms, administrative and judicial departments from all over the country attended the meeting.
The meeting was opened with a speech by Ms. Liu Xiaohong, President of Shanghai University of Political Science and Law. At the meeting, Mr. Shi Weidong, deputy secretary of the party group and full-time vice-chairman of the Shanghai Law Society, gave his speech reporting on the research progress in Shanghai in the field of sports law in the recent years. Mr. Zhang Sujun, vice-chaiman of the Chinese Law Society, presented his speech through the video, recognizing the long-term achievements of the research, and put forward his future expectations. Mr. Li Jianming, chairman of the China Association for Sports Law, summarized the development of research over the past years, and expects the all participants to keep up the study.
The meeting then entered the stage of academic forum. The forum focused on "the important guiding significance of Xi Jinping's thoughts in the development of the rule of law in sports", "the ideas and basic framework of the amendments to the Chinese Sports Law", "the implementation of the Civil Code and the protection over the citizens' sports rights", " The six themes of Research on Legal Issues of the Beijing Winter Olympics, "Research on Legal Issues of Anti-Doping ", and "Establishment of Sports Arbitration Institutions", focusing on the approaching Tokyo Olympics and Beijing Winter Olympics, and analyzed the current status of domestic sports law And development trends.
