(Allist) (688578.SH) has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Jaco Bio (1167.HK), granting Allist the exclusive license for the research, development, manufacturing, registration, and commercialization of the KRAS G12C inhibitor Goralresib and the SHP2 inhibitor JAB-3312 in China (including Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan).
The imported Goralresib, used for second-line treatment of KRAS G12C-mutated non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), has been granted priority review for its new drug application (NDA) as of May 21, 2024. In December 2022, Goralresib was recognized by the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) as a breakthrough therapy for the second-line and above treatment of patients with advanced or metastatic NSCLC harboring KRAS G12C mutations. The co-introduced JAB-3312 is a selective allosteric inhibitor of SHP2, a key node in the RAS signaling pathway, and the only SHP2 inhibitor globally to have entered Phase III trials. It has been designated an orphan drug by the U.S. FDA for esophageal cancer (including esophageal squamous cell carcinoma). Securing the rights to these two inhibitors in Greater China aligns with Allist's strategic plan, further expanding its oncology pipeline, which covers lung cancer, pancreatic cancer, and colorectal cancer. This helps Allist to build a comprehensive product matrix for cancer treatment, consistently launching innovative drugs with proven efficacy that benefit the public.
This license involves highly complex issues regarding the scope of exclusivity and territorial rights. It includes multiple possibilities for the independent and combined use of KRAS G12C and SHP2 inhibitors. Unlike typical licenses, both parties retain the possibility of developing conjugated drugs with KRAS G12C and SHP2 inhibitors, which required not only clear legal thinking but also a deep understanding of biopharmaceutical technology and the market.
