On 18 January 2024, LEGALBAND released its annual list of Top 15 Lawyers in Games and E-Sports. Mr. James Wang earned a LLB degree from Fudan University Law School. He specializes in litigation in the game industry and has represented several landmark cases with significant social influence. These include the first case of 'judgment first + temporary injunction' – 'The Legend of Moon' case, which was selected by the Supreme Court and the Zhejiang Court as one of the 2020 annual typical intellectual property cases. Additionally, he represented the first case of domestic sandbox game – 'Mini World' case was selected as one of China's Top 10 intellectual property judgment cases in 2022. Mr. Wang also represented the first case of non-infringement of audio-visual images in film and game – 'Blue Moon' case, which was selected as one of the eight 'People's Court Film Intellectual Property Protection Cases' by the Supreme People's Court in 2020. Finally, he represented the second instance case of the shooting game 'Overwatch'.

Mr. Wang and his team are focused on researching and producing results. They have published several articles on game law, including 'Judicial Study into the Types of Online Games in the Context of the New Copyright Law', 'Judgment of Similarity Comparison Methods of Online Game Infringement and Strategies for Defending Right', 'Road to Prosperity: A New Approach to Business Ethics - on the legitimacy of gold coin trading services offered by third-party game trading platforms', 'Study on the Application of 'Ceasing Infringement' Liability in Online Game Cases'.
